  • Itinerary

    Day 0: Overnight Journey from Delhi to Dharamshala

    Your journey begins from Delhi in the evening as you board a comfortable vehicle (Volvo or tempo traveller) arranged for an overnight journey to Dharamshala. Enjoy the overnight ride as you pass through the plains of Punjab and gradually ascend into the scenic hills of Himachal Pradesh. Rest during the journey to prepare for the trek ahead.

    Day 1: Dharamshala to Kareri Village Drive and Trek to Liyoti

    Upon reaching Dharamshala in the morning, freshen up and have breakfast before starting a short drive of around 25 km (approximately 2 hours) to Kareri Village, a beautiful Himachali hamlet located at 1,800 meters. From the village, begin your trek towards Liyoti. The trail gradually ascends through dense pine and oak forests, offering picturesque views and crossing charming wooden bridges over mountain streams. After trekking about 6 km over 4 to 5 hours, reach the Liyoti campsite, nestled in a serene forest clearing. Spend the evening relaxing around the campsite. Dinner and overnight stay will be in tents.

    Day 2: Trek to Kareri Lake and Return to Liyoti

    After an early breakfast, begin your trek from Liyoti to the beautiful Kareri Lake. The 7 km ascent takes you through rocky terrain, alpine meadows, and along gushing streams, with the Dhauladhar range providing a majestic backdrop. Upon reaching the glacial Kareri Lake, located at an altitude of 2,950 meters, spend time soaking in the peaceful environment and exploring the area around the lake. After some time at the lake, start the descent back to Liyoti, covering a total of 14 km in the day. Reach back by evening for a hot dinner and a well-deserved rest in your tents.

    Day 3: Trek Back to Kareri Village and Drive to Dharamshala

    Post breakfast, begin your descent back to Kareri Village. The 6 km downhill trek takes approximately 3 to 4 hours, following the same forested route through which you ascended. Once you reach the village, drive back to Dharamshala, covering the 25 km journey in around 2 hours. The trip concludes upon arrival in Dharamshala with beautiful memories of the Himalayan adventure.

    2. The company reserves the right to reschedule sightseeing days to ensure the smooth execution of tours. All guests must carry a valid Indian government-issued photo address proof, including for children.
    3. Please provide your pick-up and drop-off times.
    4. For those booking only the cab service, please book or look for hotels within a 9 to 10 km radius of the main city to avoid extra travel charges. Cab operator service hours for local sightseeing are from 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM. For safety reasons, please avoid late-night walks. If the vehicle is used late at night, additional compensation for the driver will be required. Please consider all sightseeing activities as per the time and travel schedule. There are no timing restrictions on arrival and departure days.
    5. Please respond by return mail so we can proceed with the advance booking formalities. Upon reflecting the amount in our account, we will send you a reservation voucher.
    6. Help us keep our surroundings clean by avoiding littering, spitting, drinking, and smoking in public places and in all aspects (advisory only).
    7. AC is complimentary in flat areas, but in hill stations, AC will not be used (mostly for North India and North East regions). All vehicles hired are on a point-to-point basis and not on disposal. If AC services are required in hill areas, it will be on a direct payment basis.
    8. Sightseeing days may need to be rescheduled due to the closing of any monument on a particular day to ensure the smooth execution of tours.
    9. Check-in and check-out times are as per hotel policies.
    10. Meal timings must be followed as instructed by the hotels. We shall not be responsible for any un-availed meals.
    11. In case of non-payment, either advance or remaining, the company has the right to stop services.
    12. We shall not be responsible for any cancellation of cabs or buses due to bad weather and are not liable for it.
    13. In regions like Himachal, Leh Ladakh, Kashmir, Uttarakhand, North East, Andaman & Nicobar, Kerala, Goa, and Rajasthan, hotels are typically categorized based on location, services, and the type of experience they offer, rather than traditional star ratings. These areas often have unique accommodations, ranging from basic guesthouses to luxury resorts, shaped by their geographical and cultural characteristics. In places like Andaman & Nicobar, Rajasthan, and Kerala, the focus is on proximity to natural attractions, heritage experiences, and local amenities, with star classification being less common in remote or heritage properties.

    6. To secure your package booking, an initial payment of 50% is required at the time of reservation.
    7. The remaining 50% of the package cost will be collected either upon arrival on the first day of the tour or 1-7 days prior to the trip.

    3. -If cancelled between 15-29 days prior to departure: 50% of the total tour cost will be deducted.

How To Reach

Starting Point: Delhi (ISBT Kashmere Gate or RK Ashram)

Participants are required to report at the designated boarding point in Delhi by the evening on Day 0. You will travel overnight in a comfortable Volvo or Tempo Traveller to Dharamshala, the gateway to the Kareri Lake trek.


By Air (Alternative Option):

If you wish to skip the overnight bus journey and prefer to travel by air:

  1. Nearest Airport: Gaggal Airport, Dharamshala (DHM) – approx. 20 km from Kareri Village
  2. Regular flights are available from Delhi to Dharamshala.
  3. From the airport, a private taxi can be arranged to reach Kareri Village (on request, chargeable).


By Train (Not Recommended):

There is no direct train to Dharamshala. The nearest railway station is Pathankot, around 90 km away. From there, you would need to take a taxi or bus to reach Dharamshala. This route is less convenient compared to the direct overnight bus or flight.
