Join us on an unforgettable 2-day adventure with Mountains Chain Travel Pvt. Ltd. as we trek through the stunning landscapes of Uttarakhand. This trek takes you to the highest Lord Shiva temple in the world — Tungnath — followed by the breathtaking Chandrashila Summit. Explore the scenic beauty, spiritual sanctity, and panoramic views of the majestic peaks of Uttarakhand, including Nanda Devi, Chaukhamba, and Kedarnath.  

  • Itinerary

    Day 1: Arrival at Chopta & Trek to Tungnath

    We reach Rishikesh and take a brief halt to rest. Afterward, we begin our mountain drive to Chopta, traveling along the Kedarnath-Badrinath highway. We pass through the picturesque towns of Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, and Kund, taking around 8 hours to reach Chopta. Chopta is a small hill station on the Gopeshwar-Badrinath road, surrounded by scenic meadows and known for its beautiful camping spots. It is also the starting point for the treks to Tungnath and Chandrashila. Upon arrival in Chopta, we enjoy a hearty lunch before starting our trek to Tungnath, the world's highest Lord Shiva temple. The 3.5 km trek from Chopta to Tungnath is on a cemented path, taking about 3 hours to complete. Once we reach the temple, we explore the surroundings and enjoy a spectacular sunset. Afterward, we have dinner and stay overnight at Tungnath.

    Day 2: Early Morning Trek to Chandrashila & Return to Delhi

    We wake up early for the 1.5 km trek to Chandrashila. This part of the trek is steeper, taking around an hour to reach the summit. From the top, we are rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, including Nanda Devi, Chaukhamba, Kedarnath, Trisul, Gangotri, Shivling, and many others. After spending some time at the summit, we begin our descent and arrive back in Chopta by noon. We begin our drive back to Delhi. We expect to reach Delhi the following morning.

    2. The company reserves the right to reschedule sightseeing days to ensure the smooth execution of tours. All guests must carry a valid Indian government-issued photo address proof, including for children.
    3. Please provide your pick-up and drop-off times.
    4. For those booking only the cab service, please book or look for hotels within a 9 to 10 km radius of the main city to avoid extra travel charges. Cab operator service hours for local sightseeing are from 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM. For safety reasons, please avoid late-night walks. If the vehicle is used late at night, additional compensation for the driver will be required. Please consider all sightseeing activities as per the time and travel schedule. There are no timing restrictions on arrival and departure days.
    5. Please respond by return mail so we can proceed with the advance booking formalities. Upon reflecting the amount in our account, we will send you a reservation voucher.
    6. Help us keep our surroundings clean by avoiding littering, spitting, drinking, and smoking in public places and in all aspects (advisory only).
    7. AC is complimentary in flat areas, but in hill stations, AC will not be used (mostly for North India and North East regions). All vehicles hired are on a point-to-point basis and not on disposal. If AC services are required in hill areas, it will be on a direct payment basis.
    8. Sightseeing days may need to be rescheduled due to the closing of any monument on a particular day to ensure the smooth execution of tours.
    9. Check-in and check-out times are as per hotel policies.
    10. Meal timings must be followed as instructed by the hotels. We shall not be responsible for any un-availed meals.
    11. In case of non-payment, either advance or remaining, the company has the right to stop services.
    12. We shall not be responsible for any cancellation of cabs or buses due to bad weather and are not liable for it.
    13. In Himachal, Leh Ladakh, Kashmir, Uttarakhand, and North East, the facilities of hotels, services, aids, etc., cannot be matched to developed destinations. Hotels in these regions are categorized based on location, services, and cost, and not as per star categorization (1*, 2*, 3*, 4*, 5*, etc.).

    2. Travel Documents: It is the responsibility of the traveler to ensure that all necessary travel documents, including passport, visa, and travel insurance, are in order.
    3. No discount will be provided after confirmation.
    4. The company shall not be responsible for any delays or cancellations due to heavy traffic jams, blocked roads, technical faults, strikes, natural disasters, or any unforeseen events. Such situations may also require extra services at additional costs.
    5. Reservation Policy for Package Booking
    6. To secure your package booking, an initial payment of 50% is required at the time of reservation.
    7. The remaining 50% of the package cost will be collected either upon arrival on the first day of the tour or 1-7 days prior to the trip.
    8. Reservation Policy for Flight/Train/Bus Booking1
    9. For flight, train, or bus bookings, a 100% payment is required to confirm the reservation.

    15. Fixed Departure Dates: The tour will depart on the fixed dates mentioned in the itinerary. No changes or amendments will be allowed.
    16. Company's Rights: The company reserves the right to cancel or modify the tour itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances, including natural calamities, political unrest, or other factors beyond our control.

    2. -If cancelled 30 days or more prior to departure: 20% of the total tour cost will be deducted.
    3. -If cancelled between 15-29 days prior to departure: 50% of the total tour cost will be deducted.
    4. -If cancelled between 0-14 days prior to departure: 100% of the total tour cost will be deducted.
    5. No Refund Policy

How To Reach

By Air:

The nearest airport to Chopta is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun, which is about 185 km away. From the airport, you can hire a taxi or take a private vehicle to reach Chopta. The drive takes around 6-7 hours.

By Train:

The nearest railway station is Rishikesh Railway Station, located approximately 200 km from Chopta. From Rishikesh, you can hire a taxi or take a local bus to reach Chopta, which takes around 6-7 hours.

By Road:

Chopta is well connected by road. You can drive directly to Chopta from Delhi, which is approximately 450 km away and takes around 10-12 hours by car. Alternatively, buses from Delhi to Rishikesh or Dehradun are available, and from there, you can hire a taxi or take a local bus to reach Chopta.
