The itinerary takes you on a comprehensive journey through the region’s most significant monasteries, sacred landmarks, and picturesque valleys. Your adventure begins in Leh, where you will visit the Namgyal Tsemo Gompa, a hilltop monastery that dominates the city skyline, and the serene Shanti Stupa, offering sweeping views of the surrounding mountains. From Leh, Mountains Chain Travel Pvt. Ltd. will guide you westward into the Sham region of the Indus Valley — an area dotted with remarkable monasteries and charming villages. Key sites include Phyang, Basgo, Alchi, Rizong, Lamayuru, Likir, and Spituk monasteries. Along this 2-day excursion, you will also experience the fascinating Magnetic Hill, the stunning confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers, and the revered Gurdwara Pathar Sahib. Next, ascend to the legendary Khardung La Pass (5,602 m), one of the world’s highest motorable roads, before descending into the breathtaking Nubra Valley. Here, you’ll visit the ancient Diskit Monastery, which overlooks the Shayok River, and the tranquil Samstanling Monastery in Sumur. You will also have time to explore Hunder, a picturesque village famed for its scenic sand dunes and dramatic landscapes.   • Itinerary

    Highlights: Main Bazar, Leh Palace, Namgyal Tsemo Gompa, Shanti Stupa Overnight: Leh Arrive at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, Leh after a breathtaking 1.5-hour flight from Delhi over the snow-capped Himalayas. Transfer to your hotel and rest to acclimatize to Leh’s 3,500m altitude. Later, explore the vibrant Main Bazar, dotted with restaurants and shops. In the afternoon, visit the 17th-century Leh Palace, offering sweeping views of the old town. Continue up to Namgyal Tsemo Gompa, perched atop a rocky peak, home to an 8-meter Maitreya Buddha. As evening falls, head to the Shanti Stupa, a white-domed monument symbolizing world peace, and enjoy panoramic views of Leh, especially at sunset. Stroll through the lively bazaar and admire landmarks like Jama Masjid and Gompa Soma.

First, visit Phyang Monastery, home to ~90 monks. Stop at the intriguing Magnetic Hill, where vehicles seemingly defy gravity. Continue to Sangam, the dramatic confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers. Next, explore Basgo Monastery, with its striking Buddha statue, then head to the charming village of Alchi. Visit Alchi Monastery, famed for its 11th-century murals and sculptures. By evening, arrive at Lamayuru, famed for its “Moonland” landscape and its majestic hilltop monastery. Opt to stay in a homestay for an authentic Ladakhi experience.

Journey back east with stops at the secluded Rizong Monastery, renowned for its strict discipline, and Likir Monastery, with its impressive 22m statue of Maitreya Buddha. Continue to Gurdwara Pathar Sahib, an important Sikh shrine, and then visit Spituk Monastery, dedicated to Tara, the Tibetan protector goddess. If time allows, visit the Hall of Fame Museum, which honors the Indian Army’s contributions in Ladakh, before returning to Leh.

    Highlights: Khardung La Pass, Diskit Monastery, Hunder Sand Dunes Overnight: Hunder Today, cross the awe-inspiring Khardung La Pass (5,602m), one of the world’s highest motorable roads, with views of the Karakoram Range. Descend into Nubra Valley, often called the “Valley of Flowers”, situated between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges. Visit Diskit Monastery, the valley’s oldest, and its towering 32m Chamba statue inaugurated by the Dalai Lama.     Highlights: Hunder Sand Dunes, Camel Safari, Samstanling Monastery Overnight: Leh In the morning, explore Hunder Sand Dunes and enjoy a camel safari on double-humped Bactrian camels, remnants of the ancient Silk Road trade. Later, visit Sumur Village and Samstanling Monastery, set amidst apricot orchards. Return to Leh via Khardung La Pass.

    4. For those booking only the cab service, please book or look for hotels within a 9 to 10 km radius of the main city to avoid extra travel charges. Cab operator service hours for local sightseeing are from 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM. For safety reasons, please avoid late-night walks. If the vehicle is used late at night, additional compensation for the driver will be required. Please consider all sightseeing activities as per the time and travel schedule. There are no timing restrictions on arrival and departure days.
    5. Please respond by return mail so we can proceed with the advance booking formalities. Upon reflecting the amount in our account, we will send you a reservation voucher.
    6. Help us keep our surroundings clean by avoiding littering, spitting, drinking, and smoking in public places and in all aspects (advisory only).
    7. AC is complimentary in flat areas, but in hill stations, AC will not be used (mostly for North India and North East regions). All vehicles hired are on a point-to-point basis and not on disposal. If AC services are required in hill areas, it will be on a direct payment basis.
    8. Sightseeing days may need to be rescheduled due to the closing of any monument on a particular day to ensure the smooth execution of tours.
    9. Check-in and check-out times are as per hotel policies.
    10. Meal timings must be followed as instructed by the hotels. We shall not be responsible for any un-availed meals.
    11. In case of non-payment, either advance or remaining, the company has the right to stop services.
    12. We shall not be responsible for any cancellation of cabs or buses due to bad weather and are not liable for it.
    13. In Himachal, Leh Ladakh, Kashmir, Uttarakhand, and North East, the facilities of hotels, services, aids, etc., cannot be matched to developed destinations. Hotels in these regions are categorized based on location, services, and cost, and not as per star categorization (1*, 2*, 3*, 4*, 5*, etc.).

    2. -If cancelled 30 days or more prior to departure: 20% of the total tour cost will be deducted.
    3. -If cancelled between 15-29 days prior to departure: 50% of the total tour cost will be deducted.
