Overview

The Triund Trek is a short and scenic adventure nestled in the Dhauladhar range of Himachal Pradesh, making it one of the most popular weekend treks from Delhi. Starting from the vibrant town of Mcleodganj, the trek takes you through dense pine forests, charming mountain trails, and offers breathtaking views of the Kangra Valley and snow-covered peaks. With a moderate 9 km uphill trail, it's perfectly suited for beginners as well as experienced trekkers seeking a quick escape into nature. The highlight of the trek is reaching Triund Hill, perched at an altitude of 2,875 meters, where trekkers can enjoy a mesmerizing sunset, stargazing under the open sky, and an overnight stay in tents. The trek not only offers natural beauty and serenity but also a chance to unwind in local cafés and soak in the Tibetan culture of Mcleodganj. It's a perfect blend of adventure, tranquility, and scenic charm—ideal for a refreshing mountain getaway.  

  • Itinerary

    Day 1: Delhi - Mcleodganj-Overnight Journey

    Gather at Kashmere Gate ISBT or Majnu Ka Tila by 7:00 PM, where we'll board our overnight Volvo bus to Mcleodganj. The journey covers approximately 500 km and takes around 11–12 hours. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the overnight ride through the scenic landscapes of Himachal Pradesh.

    Day 2: Mcleodganj to Triund | Trek Duration: 4–5 Hours

    Wake up to the fresh mountain air as we arrive in Mcleodganj around 8:00 AM. On arrival, We begin our trek to the stunning Triund Hill, starting from the Mcleodganj main chowk. The 9 km trail is mostly easy with a few moderate stretches, winding through beautiful pine forests and offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. By afternoon, we reach Triund (2,875 meters / 9,432 feet). Soak in the mesmerizing views of the Kangra Valley and the majestic Dhauladhar ranges. In the evening, relax at the campsite, enjoy a hot dinner, and spend the night under the stars in comfortable tents.

    Day 3: Triund to Mcleodganj | Return to Delhi

    Wake up early to witness a magical Himalayan sunrise. After breakfast, take in the final moments at Triund before we begin our descent back to Mcleodganj. We reach Mcleodganj by around 4:00 PM, with time to explore local cafés, shop for souvenirs, or just unwind. Later in the evening, we board our Volvo bus back to Delhi.

    2. The company reserves the right to reschedule sightseeing days to ensure the smooth execution of tours. All guests must carry a valid Indian government-issued photo address proof, including for children.
    3. Please provide your pick-up and drop-off times.
    4. For those booking only the cab service, please book or look for hotels within a 9 to 10 km radius of the main city to avoid extra travel charges. Cab operator service hours for local sightseeing are from 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM. For safety reasons, please avoid late-night walks. If the vehicle is used late at night, additional compensation for the driver will be required. Please consider all sightseeing activities as per the time and travel schedule. There are no timing restrictions on arrival and departure days.
    5. Please respond by return mail so we can proceed with the advance booking formalities. Upon reflecting the amount in our account, we will send you a reservation voucher.
    6. Help us keep our surroundings clean by avoiding littering, spitting, drinking, and smoking in public places and in all aspects (advisory only).
    7. AC is complimentary in flat areas, but in hill stations, AC will not be used (mostly for North India and North East regions). All vehicles hired are on a point-to-point basis and not on disposal. If AC services are required in hill areas, it will be on a direct payment basis.
    8. Sightseeing days may need to be rescheduled due to the closing of any monument on a particular day to ensure the smooth execution of tours.
    9. Check-in and check-out times are as per hotel policies.
    10. Meal timings must be followed as instructed by the hotels. We shall not be responsible for any un-availed meals.
    11. In case of non-payment, either advance or remaining, the company has the right to stop services.
    12. We shall not be responsible for any cancellation of cabs or buses due to bad weather and are not liable for it.
    13. In regions like Himachal, Leh Ladakh, Kashmir, Uttarakhand, North East, Andaman & Nicobar, Kerala, Goa, and Rajasthan, hotels are typically categorized based on location, services, and the type of experience they offer, rather than traditional star ratings. These areas often have unique accommodations, ranging from basic guesthouses to luxury resorts, shaped by their geographical and cultural characteristics. In places like Andaman & Nicobar, Rajasthan, and Kerala, the focus is on proximity to natural attractions, heritage experiences, and local amenities, with star classification being less common in remote or heritage properties.

    5. Reservation Policy for Package Booking
    6. To secure your package booking, an initial payment of 50% is required at the time of reservation.
    7. The remaining 50% of the package cost will be collected either upon arrival on the first day of the tour or 1-7 days prior to the trip.

    3. -If cancelled between 15-29 days prior to departure: 50% of the total tour cost will be deducted.

How To Reach

By Bus:

Overnight Volvo bus from Delhi (Kashmere Gate ISBT / Majnu Ka Tila) to Mcleodganj, which is the most convenient and hassle-free option. The journey is approximately 11–12 hours and covers around 500 km. Buses depart by 7:00 PM and reach Mcleodganj by early morning.


By Train:

The nearest railway station to Mcleodganj is Pathankot Railway Station (around 90 km away). From Pathankot, you can take a bus or taxi to reach Mcleodganj. However, this option involves multiple transfers and may not be as convenient as the direct bus.


By Air:

The closest airport is Kangra Airport (Dharamshala Airport), about 20 km from Mcleodganj. You can take a taxi from the airport to reach Mcleodganj in around 45 minutes. Flights are limited but available from major cities like Delhi.
